Day 2 - Oil Portrait by 2013 Day 2 - Oil Portrait by 2013
Day 2. Oh god it's killing me, this rushing for the deadline and stuff. I have 5 minutes left according to my clock. Hurhurhur... I promise something better next time. This was on and off the whole day, and I can't tell colour at night, so his hair suffered.

Traditional media, Oil and oil pastel at the very end for a little pizazz.

oh shit 4 minutes!!

I love the intensity of emotion you've achieved here. The vitality of the strokes adds to it :)

What a lovely portrait! Beautiful colouring in his skin to make it feel real.
(And lol/yay for rushing at the end. You're a winner!)

I think the coloring looks great, Maybe it's just my computer but I see a bit or orange and some blue.

Was this a life painting?

I think it's generally a little yellow because of the lights in my house. I only have tungsten lights, and they make stuff really yellow. I tried adjusting the colours on the computer, but when everything else in the room is yellow-ish, a suddenly purple-ish-blue painting looks weird. I might try to adjust the colours again tomorrow during the day. <333

And... nope. ; u ; I worked half off of a photograph in a random magazine. His face actually... looks kind of mine in a way. If I were a black man.

Try oils sometime! It's very fun. I used the water soluble one because the regular ones need thinner and oil, which give off some fumes and my apartment is very small. But if you have a big room, and open windows, try the original ones. I've been told that actual oil feels just a little more different, and just a little more rich!
